
Improving Asthma Control Awardees
The California Asthma Public Health Initiative (CAPHI) announces awards in response to the
Request for Applications (RFA) entitled “Improving Asthma Control (IAC)."
The purpose of the IAC Program is to improve health care provider awareness of and adherence to key clinical activities recommended in the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) Expert Panel Report-3 (EPR-3): Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma; and to improve asthma control and quality of life and reduce asthma morbidity for individuals with asthma in California. In response to the RFA issued in December, 2007 and funded by an appropriation from the Cigarette and Tobacco Products Surtax Fund (Prop 99).
CAPHI has selected 10 community agencies from across the State for funding:

- Fresno Community Hospital and Medical Centers - Fresno, CA
- Monterey County Health Department - Salinas, CA
- North County Health Project, Inc. - San Marcos, CA
- Northeast Valley Health Corporation - San Fernando, CA
- San Diego Family Care - San Diego, CA
St. John's Well Child and Family Center - Los Angeles, CA
- The Children's Clinic, Serving Children and Their Families - Long Beach, CA
Vista Community Clinic - Vista, CA
