Perinatal HIV Prevention Project

The Office of AIDS, Perinatal HIV Prevention Project is responsible for eradicating the transmission of HIV from mother-to-child during pregnancy, labor, and delivery.  The primary focus of the Perinatal HIV Prevention Project is to build the capacity of California labor and delivery hospitals to provide rapid HIV testing to pregnant women who present at labor and delivery without a documented HIV status.  The Perinatal HIV Prevention Project also works to assist prenatal care providers in administering HIV testing during a pregnant woman’s prenatal care.  For additional information, please call Kama Brockmann, Perinatal HIV Prevention Project Coordinator, at (916) 449-5964 or e-mail: Kama.Brockmann@cdph.ca.gov.
