The California Nutrition and Physical Activity Guidelines for Adolescents handouts were developed to assist Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP) case managers in improving the nutrition, physical activity, and healthy eating practices of AFLP clients. The Guidelines include several nutrition topics to serve as a reference for case managers working with teens and provide educational handouts. This material is intended to support but not replace the information provided by healthcare providers.
These handouts can and have been used by other adolescent programs. If interested in modifying or using the materials in any derivative work, contact the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division.
The handouts are currently being updated, so check this webpage for updated versions. Please note that only new handouts are posted on this page; older versions can be found within the Guidelines.
