Healthcare Providers: How to Participate 

Obstetric healthcare providers can:

 Pediatric healthcare providers can:

  • Identify and report suspected congenital Zika virus exposure to your local health department for possible testing. Collect pertinent clinical information about infants born to women with laboratory evidence of Zika virus infection or infants with congenital Zika virus infection.  See the Infant Health Follow-up Form for details on data elements of interest.
  • Provide the information directly to CDPH (See Contact Us below) if local health officials are deferring these activities.
  • Notify local health department staff of adverse events that may be related to Zika infection (e.g., perinatal or infant deaths).
