Influenza (Flu)
Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent influenza is by getting a flu vaccination each fall.
The following groups of people should get a flu vaccine each fall:

Adults 50 and older

Children aged 6 months up to their 19th birthday.

Pregnant women

Nursing home residents

Health care workers
-
Individuals with a chronic health condition

People who live with or care for an adult over 50, a child under 5, or anyone with a chronic health condition
