Who is at risk for cervical cancer?
- Women who have sex or have ever had sex.
- Women who have never had a Pap test.
- Women who have not had a Pap test in the last five years.
- Women who smoke.
- Women who are HIV positive.
Cancer Detection Programs: Every Woman Counts follows the Centers for Disease Control guidelines regarding Pap tests.
Women age 25 and older who qualify for free cervical cancer screening with Cancer Detection Programs: Every Woman Counts may receive a Pap test every year. If the Pap test is normal three years in a row then the Pap test can be repeated every three years instead of every year.
