Office of Health Information and Research

The Office of Health Information and Research (OHIR) is responsible for stewardship and distribution of vital statistics data (births, deaths, fetal deaths, marriage) and provides written reports and data tables analyzing these data. OHIR also assesses California's progress toward Healthy People health indicators and coordinates the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) for the Departments of Public Health and Health Care Services.

Note: California Department of Public Health (CDPH) offices will be closed three Fridays per month January 2010 through June 2010 due to the Governor's furlough orders.  Please refer to the list of furlough Fridays to see which dates offices will be closed.
